26th. September 2014

ukactive will be running National Fitness Day, on Friday 26th September, an event that is set to become the UK’s biggest celebration of physical activity.

We all know the benefits of regular exercise. But the reality is, many people find getting active a lonely slog – and it really shouldn’t be.

Research shows that if you exercise in company, you’re more likely to stick at it. That’s what National Fitness Day is all about – providing the inspiration to move and celebrating the fun of fitness.

ukactive members will be offering free “Power Half Hour” sessions and there will also be a series of mass participation exercise events in public spaces in London, Bristol and Birmingham on National Fitness Day.

Hundreds of participants will sweat it out together; energised by great music and motivated by the fun of getting active together.

HK author Professor Greg Whyte, OBE, is acting as National Fitness Day’s “resident expert”.

In addition to his book Practical ECG for Exercise Science and Sports Medicine, you’ll know him as one of the country’s pre-eminent sports scientists and the man who trained Davina McCall, David Walliams and Eddie Izzard for their incredible sporting challenges – he knows what it takes to get the best out of your body.
