A sporting chance to win

Those Primary and Secondary schools who have registered and are taking part in this year’s Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week, which runs from 27th June to 1st July, will be competing for more than just the glory of winning.

Four Secondary schools could carry the Olympic Flame in the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay and 12 primary schools could win tickets to the London 2012 Games for pupils and teachers.

Schools achieving the qualifying ‘Gold Standard’ of pledged support will be asked to submit a written submission demonstrating that their school has either helped children to do more sport and achieve a personal best, increased sports participation, or brought innovation around sporting activity in their school.

These submissions will be reviewed by a judging panel including Jonathan Edwards, Baroness Sue Campbell and Sally Hancock (Lloyds Banking Group) on or before 30 September 2011.

Only schools who have registered and take part are in with a chance of winning the top prizes so if you haven’t done so yet, there’s not much time left so get moving.
