Global Perspectives: Research and Practice on Dance Pedagogy
Centre for Excellence for Performance Arts (CEPA)
De Montfort University, Leicester. 25 to 27th June, 2009

The conference is being organised in conjunction with the Congress on Research in Dance. This is CORD’s 42nd Conference, and the first ever in the UK. You don’t need to be a member of CORD to attend the conference but new members are always welcomed.

Over the three days teachers, researchers and artists from all over the world will discuss key current issues about dance pedagogy. More than eighty people will be presenting papers, lecture demonstrations and workshops, plus keynote addresses from Christopher Bannerman, Janice Ross as well as a performance by New Art Club. Ramsay Burt will convene plenary discussions.

There will be contributions concerning dance in kindergarten, schools, colleges, universities, conservatoires and the community. Research includes all areas of dance including performance, social forms, traditional dances and the avant-garde.

This event will be of interest to anyone interested in education, particularly those lecturers, teachers, researchers and performing artists interested in taking the conversation about dance pedagogy forward.
