The Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA) has announced that from November, the International Journal of Aquatics Research and Education (IJARE) will become its official Technical Journal.
STA had originally considered creating a new peer-reviewed technical journal of its own, with the aim of providing its members with learned information relating to swimming and lifesaving.
However, once STA was invited to sit on the editorial board of the International Journal of Aquatics Research and Education (IJARE) alongside other educational and sports bodies, they recognised that this existing journal already met all the criteria they sought.
Following negotiations, STA signed the partnering agreement that now sees IJARE become their official technical journal.
Roger Millward, STA’s Chief Executive said: “Partnering with IJARE, an already established and respected technical publication provides the STA and its members a great opportunity to share expertise and peer-reviewed information with like-minded international bodies.”
Professor Peter Bunyan will represent STA on the editorial board of the journal and in this role, Peter will serve as one of the reviewers of submitted educational aquatic manuscripts to provide expert comments.
STA members are also encouraged to submit educational, instructional or pedagogical-related manuscripts.
All current STA members will qualify for a 20% discount on an individual subscription to the quarterly magazine and to take advantage of this great offer, please email your interest and STA membership number to sta@sta.co.uk.
