Among the 7,000-strong field at this year’s Leeds Half Marathon on May 11th will be HKE’s Jonathan Kay (left) and Chris Wright (right).
Both have been pounding the pavements for months in order to reach peak fitness and although this is not officially a race, neither will want to be second best.
Chris wants to beat his best time of 1 hour 29 minutes, while Jonny would dearly love to beat local rival John Johnson, who last year set a personal best in the event.
Jonathan is hoping to at least keep up with 84-year-old John for as long as he can, although he admits it’s going to be a tough ask.
HKE staff will be out in force offering their support, although both deny they wear them.
There is a serious side to this of course and team HK will be running to raise funds for our chosen charity Macmillan, which provides fantastic support and care for cancer sufferers and their families.
If you would like to sponsor the HK heroes you can do so here
Any amount, however small, would be welcome and greatly appreciated.
