Cycling down under

BUPA Down UnderJulian Goater, author of The Art of Running Faster, swapped his trainers for a bike when he joined thousands of other amateur cyclists in the Bupa Stage 4 of the Santos Tour Down Under.

More than 6,600 recreational cyclists will rode the Unley to Victor Harbor stage of the UCI WorldTour event just hours before the professionals took to the route.

The Bupa Challenge Tour encourages riders of all levels of ability to take part and amateur cyclists can choose from four different start locations, with distances ranging from 33 km to the full professional race distance, so everyone is encouraged to have a go.

The Bupa Challenge Tour is the only public ride where participants can ride on the same course as the professionals on the same day of a UCI WorldTour event.
