School Sport Matters Awards

A host of British sporting greats, from a wide array of disciplines, celebrated the bright prospects for the future of school sport at a gala luncheon held at Twickenham Stadium to mark the seventh annual School Sport Matters Awards.

Weightlifter Zoe Smith, who won the Female Pupil of the Year award was unable to attend in person as she was competing in the World Weightlifting Championships in Paris where she later set two personal bests.

In the Male Pupil of the Year category, the winner was cricketer Dominic Sibley who had a superb season, surpassing even the exploits of current England star Alastair Cook when he was a schoolboy.
