Helping kids manage stress

Stress can be just as pervasive in the lives of children and adolescents as it is in adults and without adequate coping skills, students can often engage in risky behaviour and poor decision making.

Now, for the first time, there’s a resource for teachers that is devoted to helping five to 18-year-olds to manage stress.

The text presents 199 activities that have been proved effective in handling stress, enabling teachers to learn how to incorporate principles of stress management into their lessons and introduce suitable programmes into their schools.

  1. This will really help me out a lot, especially in my field of work (I am a respite counselor for children) I’ve noticed that many of my kids don’t know how to properly deal with the day to day stresses that may come upon them. Whether it’s a bundle of homework or having to clean their room I notice that many shut down simply because they don’t know how to relax.

    Thanks for sharing this!
