The event has been organised by The Open University and hopes to bring together academics and practitioners to explore some of the contemporary issues in sports coaching.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Dr Richard Bailey, The International Council for Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE)
  • Dr Sophia Jowett,  author of  Social Psychology in Sport (Human Kinetics, 2007)
  • Dr Leanne Norman, Leeds Beckett University
  • Marieanne Spacey MBE, England Women’s Senior Football Team Assistant Coach

New study reveals physical and mental health benefits of golf

A new study has suggested that playing golf significantly improve both mental and physical well-being and even help prevent some serious conditions.

The research was published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine. A team of scientists analysed findings from 5,000 studies to look at the associations between golf and well-being.
